Norwegian club Molde FK have announced that Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga has been acquitted by the Frostating Court of Appeal of the sexual assault allegations that sidelined him from football for nearly 11 months.
The verdict brings an end to a lengthy legal process that prevented the highly rated midfielder from featuring for the Eliteserien side during the period of the investigation and court proceedings.
In a statement, Molde confirmed that the Court of Appeal had acquitted Daga of the charges and that the club would immediately reintegrate him into the squad.
"Following the verdict, Daniel Daga is available to play for Molde FK again," the club stated.
The decision marks a significant turning point for the young Nigerian, who now has the opportunity to resume his professional career after an extended absence from competitive football.
Daga, regarded as one of Nigeria's brightest young midfield talents, will now focus on rebuilding his match fitness and earning his place in Molde's team as the club continues its domestic campaign.
