Coca-Cola Company invests in women to spur sustainable economic growth
The Coca-Cola Company’s 5by20 programme, announced in 2010, is part of the company’s global sustainability initiatives to economically empower five million women entrepreneurs across the company’s value chain by 2020.
By providing access to business skills, financial services, assets and support networks of peers and mentors, 5by20 is helping women to be successful  entrepreneurs by removing the barriers they face, while creating thriving sustainable communities.

KNUST students help to save cocoa industry
Students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) are partnering two international non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in designing a deliberate policy to encourage the youth to go into the production and distribution of cocoa to save the industry from imminent collapse.
The move is a response to a research which indicates that most cocoa farmers are ageing and the youth are less motivated to take over.

Upper Manya increases revenue
The Upper Manya Krobo District Assembly in the Eastern Region exceeded its revenue target last year by 108.75 per cent by collecting GH¢230,956.87 against GH¢212,366.00 budgeted for the year.
The District Chief Executive, Mr Joseph Tetteh Angmor, announced this at the assembly’s first meeting of the year at Asesewa, the district capital.
He said the achievement was the result of prudent measures instituted by the assembly.
The assembly, according to Mr Angmor, also received GH¢607,641.41 as
