Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has announced the end of his marriage to his wife, Elsie Okpocha.
Basketmouth and Elsie Okpocha got married in a beautiful ceremony in 2010. Basketmouth promised that they “will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need” to their children.
Basketmouth shared the shocking news in a statement on his official Instagram page on Thursday afternoon, December 22.
He wrote: “As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation.
After much deliberation, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage. As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need.”
The comedian also implored all sympathisers and the general public to respect their privacy.
“We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times. Thank you.”
