The police in Kumasi have served notice it will henceforth spare no one found flouting any provision of the Road Traffic Act 2004, Act 683, that regulates the use of 'DV' and 'DP' trade number plates. Patronage of domestic airline services has dropped over the past two months following a temporary ban on funeral activities in Kumasi, capital of the Ashanti Region. The Dansoman Police have arrested five persons for allegedly producing and selling alcohol mixed with marijuana. The suspects include a 25-year-old farmer, Alex Awumbisi; Yussif Nuhu, 33, an onion seller; and Kpakpo Quartey, 38, a worker in a slaughterhouse. The Accra Regional Police Command Monday impounded 875 motorbikes in a second exercise as part of an operation to curb the use of motorbikes for criminal activities. The people of the Offinso North District in the Ashanti Region have, for the past three months, suffered a severe water shortage due to damage to the main pipeline that supplies the district with potable water from the Tanoso Water Headworks in the Techiman municipality in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
