Pupils sensitized on adolescent reproductive health
Ada-Bedeku (G/A), April 8, GNA Pupils of Bedeku Junior High and Primary Schools near Big Ada have been sensitized on unsafe abortion, teenage pregnancy and adolescent reproductive health at a days workshop. The workshop was organized by two non-governmental organisations, Ipas Ghana and Hope for Future Generations, in collaboration with some queen mothers and health professionals. In her opening remarks Naana Korlekie Korley 1, Divisional Queenmother of Terkperbiawer Clan, advised the pupils to study hard. She said the climate change and human activities had affected arable lands for farming, an occupation most people consider do not require more formal training. Naana Korlekie Korley asked the children to abstain from early sex no matter the economic problems of their parents. Later, the health professionals including Mrs Christiana Osifo-Doe took the pupils through dangers of unsafe abortion, reproductive health among others.GNA
