More roads in Kumasi upgraded
Kumasi, April 8, GNA About 70-kilometre stretch of roads in the Kumasi metropolis were upgraded last year, Mr Theodore Quaye, the Ashanti Regional Director of the Department of Urban Roads, has announced. He said 39.7 of these were surfaced while 30.23 kilometres were resealed. The improved roads include those at Sawaba, Adukrom, Northern Command-Barekese, Adoato, Aprepokese, Alabar, Krofrom, Ahodwo Clinic, TUC/New Orleans, Star Junction, Tech Police Station-Asokore-Mampong, Emena-Boadi, Ayeduase, Breman-OKESS, Anomangye and Abawa Ruth. The rest are Breman UGC, Tafo-Ahenbronum, Tafo-Adompom-Atimatim, Sepe-Dote, North Suntreso, nwamase, OTEC FM, Manhyia Polyclinic, Buabasa, Oslo Ventures, A. Aduna, Ash Town, Dichemso, Buokrom, Osei Nkwantabisa, Odeneho-Kwadaso and Anomangye-Mpatasie. He said the erection of road signs, markings and speed ramp to assure public safety were steadily progressing on them. Mr Quaye told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that they had set a target of completing 30 kilometres stretch by way of both surfacing and resealing this year.He said already construction of drains on many of the major link roads in the metropolis had been done.GNA
