Accra, Dec. 6, GNA - President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Thursday said his administration's work had put Ghana's progress on a forward motion, which would translate into more votes for his government in the 2020 election.
"The one million difference in 2016, we are going to increase it this time round on the basis of the work that we are doing," the President said.
President Akufo-Addo said this when he commissioned the Ga Central Municipal Assembly's Office Complex and an 11-classroom block for the Anyaa M/A Basic School at Anyaa/Sowutuom Constituency in Accra.
The President said his government was determined, through the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme, to ensure that Ghana had the requisite human capital to build the country.
"It is people who build nations. It is not gold in the ground or oil in the seas that build nations. It is human beings that build nations and we want to make sure that we have the best human capital available for the development of our country," he said.
The President urged Ghanaians to disregard the propaganda by his political opponents to review the Free SHS Policy when they assumed the reigns of government, even though they had condemned its feasibility prior to the 2016 elections.
He said Ghanaians ought to reject their rhetoric because they (political Opponents) would only collapse the free SHS Policy, adding; "we are going forward, no bend no curve".
President Akufo-Addo assured the inhabitants of the Municipality that their concerns had been noted by his office and would receive the needed attention in due course.
