Winneba (C/R), Dec. 10, GNA - The Winneba Masquerade Federation has elected new executive members to run its affairs for the next three years.
They are Mr Samuel Afful, the President; Mr Charles Yawtey, Vice President; and Mr Fiifi Enninful, Secretary.
These retained their positions respectively while Mr Charles Aidoo was elected as the Assistant Secretary.
Other executives elected are Ahassan Yahaya, Organising Secretary, Mr Isaac Mensah, Financial Secretary and Mr Kobina Essun Mensah, Treasurer respectively.
The executives’ tenure office commenced from November 11, 2018 and would end in June, 2021.
The election took place at the first ever annual general delegates’ congress of the Federation at Winneba in the Central Region.
The delegates were from four masquerading groups constituting the Federation, namely Noble No, One Fancy Dress, Egga Number Two and Twumus Number Three.
Mr Yankson, a lawyer and a patron of the Federation, presented the new constitution of the Federation and was endorsed by the congress as a working document.
He led the new executives of the Federation to take the oath of allegiance, office and secrecy; and swore them into office.
Mr Yankson expressed gratitude to the delegates for the peaceful congress and asked the executives not to lord themselves over the members of the Federation.
He urged them to work hard for the growth of the fancy dress culture in Effutuman and help promote tourism of the area.
Mr Afful thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in them and promised that they would ensure that sanity prevails in the affairs of the four groups under the Federation.
He said their doors would be opened to receive fruitful ideas, suggestions and information from members to help improve the conditions of members.
Mr Enninful in an interview with the Ghana News Agency commended the delegates for the honour done them adding that they would use their expertise to ensure the smooth running of the Federation.
