Out of the 400 trainees, 382 graduated and were presented with National Vocational Training Institute Proficiency certificates.
The training was administered by the Aseda Foundation, a Non-governmental Organisation operating in nine regions of the country.
The trainees were given hands-on skills training on hair dressing, spaying, tailoring, upholstery, interior decoration and floor tiling among other trades.
Dr. Dominic Eduah, the Executive Director of GNPC Foundation, addressed the graduation ceremony and presented trade materials to the trainees to establish themselves in trade.
He said the Foundation after various interventions in the formal sector through scholarship and other social investments decided to turn its attention to the informal sector to give hope to the many youth who needed basic skills to make life meaningful.
He said the Foundation would continue to work and add value to the lives of many more Ghanaians.
Board Chairman of the Foundation, Odeneho Ogyeahoho Gyebi II, said the board after considering the social and economic benefits of the training, planned to scale up the project to cover over 4,000 youth in the coming year.
He stated that the company after providing stores and other logistics for the beneficiaries would ensure regular monitoring, counseling and offer the necessary assistance to the beneficiaries to maximise impact.
Ms. Dina Adjei, the Founder of Aseda Foundation urged the graduands to be disciplined, humble and work with the fear of God in order to achieve success.
