Ghana international Mohammed Salisu will be working under a new manager at AS Monaco following the sacking of Adi Hutter.
The Austrian’s tactician departure comes following the club’s inconsistent performance since the commencement of the 2025/26 campaign.
Currently, the Principality club find themselves in the fifth position three points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain, however, by Hutter’s own admission, performances have been found wanting.
The 55-year-old tactician leaves Monaco after two season spell at the club, masterminding their return to the UEFA Champions League this season.
Hutter’s sacking appears to be a good news for the Black Stars defender, who has recently struggled for playing time under Hutter. Out of frustration, the former Southampton star considered Monaco departure in the summer.
This season, the 26-year-old Ghanaian defender has made just two appearances in the French Ligue 1 for Monaco, while appearing just once for the French outfit in the Champions League.
Salis is now set to work Sébastien Pocognoli, who is set to be closing in on the Monaco job. He will be hoping to establish himself as a key member of the team.
The defender is currently with the Black Stars for the final round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. He was on target when Ghana walloped Central African Republic on Wednesday afternoon to secure maximum points.
He is expected to feature against Comoros on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
