Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has labelled his team "a work in progress" following a painful 1-0 away defeat to league leaders Medeama SC on Sunday.
The loss, secured by a 74th-minute goal from former Hearts midfielder Salim Adams, halted the Phobians' strong away record this season.
Despite entering the match as the team with the highest accumulated away points, Hearts of Oak failed to harvest any from a venue where they have enjoyed recent success.
Coach Dramani firmly believed his side deserved more. "I don’t think the better team won. We didn’t deserve to lose today," he stated after the match. "We controlled greater part of the game, they also had their moment and I think they scored a very beautiful goal."
The coach pinpointed a recurring issue as the core problem. "Absolutely, goalscoring is really a problem," Dramani admitted, referencing clear chances missed in both halves. "These chances you don't miss them, but we’re still a work in progress."
The defeat leaves Hearts of Oak in 5th place on the league table with 28 points after 17 rounds, while Medeama SC extends their unbeaten run to 13 games to solidify their position at the summit.
