Administrative Manager of Bibiani Gold Stars, Joseph Oti Manu, has commended head coach Fritz Schmid for the swift transformation he has overseen since taking charge of the club.
Schmid was appointed to lead the Miners in the Ghana Premier League following the dismissal of Frimpong Manso.
Since his arrival, the former UEFA A-licensed trainer has steered the club up the table, lifting them from mid-table to second place in the standings.
Gold Stars head into their highly anticipated showdown with Hearts of Oak trailing league leaders Medeama by three points.
Oti Manu is confident the team’s upward trajectory under Schmid can continue, with the club targeting a historic first home victory over the Phobians.
“He is really up for the task. Fritz Schmid is a UEFA-licensed A trainer, so he knows everything about the coaching job. When he came, the team was ranked sixth or seventh, but for now, the team is second and trying to win the league back-to-back," Oti Manu told Citi Sports.
Reflecting on the previous meeting in Bibiani, which ended 1-1, Oti Manu insisted that even the narrowest of margins would be enough this time around.
"The last meeting we had with Hearts of Oak in Bibiani, it was 1-1, but any slim win for Bibiani Gold Stars will do," he added.
