Ghanaians miss Boakye Agyarko; vent their frustrations on social media

A cross section of Ghanaians have taken to social media to express their displeasure about the recent intermittent fluctuations and instability of electricity stating how they've missed the days of Boakye Agyarko, former Energy Minister who ended the phenomenon of power outages and stabilized the energy sector with a reduction in electricity tariffs.

The Power Distribution Service has suddenly incurred the wrath of the general public even though they are less than a month in operation.

GRIDCO the nation bulk electricity distribution company has taken initial responsibility for the challenges and promised to make things better.

Ghanaians on social media have aired their frustrations with the recent power outages experienced in certain parts of the country. Most parts of Accra, Madina, Koforidua and Cape Coast have been experiencing intermittent power supply in the last couple of weeks.

This has sparked concerns of a possible return to days of rationed power supply, popularly referred to as “dumsor”. Following another blackout on Wednesday evening, most Ghanaians took to social media to slam Power Distribution Services Ghana (PDS).

The PDS is currently in charge of Ghana’s electricity distribution sector, having taken over from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) last month.
