Dream FC got a hard-fought 2-1 victory over visiting Bechem United in their Ghana Premier League (GPL) Match day 13 game played at the Tuba Astro Turf on Sunday.
An own goal by defender Boa-at Regain and a strike from Abdul Razak Salifu in the first half was enough to seal the victory for the ‘Eleven is to One’ boys, which condemned the Hunters to their sixth defeat of the campaign.
Since beating Hohoe United 1-0 in mid-November, Dreams FC have gone two games without a win, losing 3-2 at home to Swedru All Blacks and 2-0 away to bottom-placed Eleven Wonders.
The hosts started on a spirited note, attacking the visitors on the right flank, and in their second foray into the goal area, right back Ebenezer Adade sent in a cross which Boa-at Regain inadvertently directed into his own net.
The goal unsettled the visitors who were shell-shocked and for a moment lost concentration as Dreams FC piled more pressure.
Ten minutes after the opener, Abdul Razak increased the tally from close range after a well-worked one-two play with Suraj Seidu.
Against the run of play, Bechem United reduced the tally through a wonderful strike by Yaw Annor on 27 minutes.
After recess, Coach Kobina Amissah of Bechem United brought on experienced Augustine Okrah, Emmanuel Ampiah, and Emmanuel Sefah to augment the team as they chased an equaliser.
But Dreams FC defended gallantly until the final whistle.
Dreams FC are away to Asante Kotoko on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium while Bechem United welcome Eleven Wonders to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
