Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford is anticipating a very tough test against giants Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League clash.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s encounter at the Kpando Sports Stadium, the experienced tactician acknowledged the strength of the Porcupine Warriors, but emphasized his outfit will battle to grind positive results.
“It is going to be a very tough game. We cannot underrate anyone. Kotoko are strong and back to their winning ways, but we are preparing very well to match them and aim for a positive result,” Hayford told Heart of Lions TV.
Heart of Lions have been unimpressive in their last five games of the Premier League, winning just one, drawing one and succumbing to three defeats across the period.
As they take on Kotoko, the Kpando-based outfit will be seeking for crucial points to get their season back on tract.
Kotoko, on the other side, go into the game on the back of two wins, two draws and one defeat in their last five matches in the domestic top-flight.
Having secured a resounding 3-0 victory in the previous game against Basake Holy Stars, the Porcupine Warriors will be hoping to maintain momentum in order grind results in the Volta Region.
After 20 matches into the campaign, Heart of Lions find themselves in 7th position with 27 points, while Asante sit second on the spot with 35 points, eight points adrift of long leaders Medeama SC.
