Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has thrown his support behind the group of players who secured the nation's World Cup qualification, suggesting major changes to the squad may not be necessary ahead of the 2026 tournament.
Speaking to Adom Sports, Ayew reflected on Ghana's strong finish to the qualifiers, which saw the Black Stars record five wins and a draw in their final six matches.
"I think the players who played during the qualifiers have done extremely well. I don't think we need any additions," he stated.
"I believe we have a good team, and, as time goes on, we are improving. We haven't had much time to train together, but the unity is getting better and everything is improving."
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Panama, and Croatia for the tournament, which runs from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
While acknowledging the final decision rests with head coach Otto Addo and his technical team, Ayew suggested that stability may be preferable to late changes.
"I don't think this is the right time to make changes. But to be honest, on the technical side, the coach will know whom to add or select," he said.
"Whoever is added must be ready to give their all and put on a show."
Ghana will open their campaign against Panama in Toronto before facing England and Croatia in Boston and Philadelphia, respectively.
